Harp Bow Piano Clicker is a single-file WebAudio harp and piano hybrid. The game runs at 60fps, has no save system, and uses Thread as its sole currency.

Core Loop:

Note-orbs fall from the top of the screen. Each orb is assigned a MIDI value, hue, size, and wobble behavior. The orbs are spawned from the composition The Long Thread, a 16-bar sequence. The player controls a harp bow that can fire arrows to intercept orbs. Successful interceptions and piano interactions generate Thread.

Harp Bow System:

The bow is aimed with the mouse. Holding the primary input initiates a charge state. Charge is calculated as 0.4 + chargeTime / 0.65, capped at 1.0. Release fires one or more arrows. Arrow velocity is calculated as 860 * (0.45 + charge * 0.65) * (1 + Bow Power level * 0.1). Cooldown between shots is 0.45 * 0.95^Bow Rate level. The number of arrows per shot is 1 + Harp Field level, with a spread of 0.19 radians per additional arrow. Arrows have a limited lifetime and trail history. An Auto Play mode is available, which automatically targets the closest orb and fires at 88-100% power.

Piano Clicker / Shop System:

The bottom of the screen contains a playable piano keyboard (17 keys) that functions as both instrument and shop.

Clicking a key plays its note via WebAudio with stereo panning based on key position, adds Thread calculated as 7 * (1 + key level * 0.09) * (1 + Piano Resonance level * 0.15), and displays a floating gain indicator. Each key has an independent level. Upgrade cost per key is 45 * 1.6^level. Holding Shift or Alt, or possessing 120% of the cost in Thread, allows a purchase. Purchasing a key level consumes Thread and emits particles.

Workshop Upgrades:

Five global workshop upgrades are defined, each with cost 45 * 1.6^level:

Bow Power (levels): Increases arrow power and velocity by 10% per level.[0]

Bow Rate (levels): Reduces bow cooldown by 5% per level.[1]

Piano Resonance (levels): Increases all Thread gains by 15% per level.[2]

String Count (levels): Increases maximum simultaneous note-orbs on screen from a base of 34 by +4 per level, up to 60.[3]

Harp Field (levels): Increases arrow count per shot, enabling multi-shot spread.[4]

Song System - The Long Thread:

The game contains a defined 16-bar composition (92 BPM). In Auto Play, a songBeat counter advances automatically. When songBeat matches a note time in the composition, the corresponding piano key glows and the note is played, generating Thread at 9 * (1 + key level * 0.09) * (1 + Piano Resonance * 0.15).

Shooting orbs that match the current or previous note in the song sequence grants a 55% bonus. Shooting any orb grants Thread calculated as 14 * (1 + piano key level * 0.12) * (1 + Piano Resonance * 0.15) * (in-order? 1.55 : 1).

Audio and Visuals:

WebAudio harp and piano hybrid synthesis. Visual elements include bow aiming, arrow trails, particle bursts on hit, key glow, and thread gain floaters. Thread gain rate is averaged over time.

Controls: Mouse aim, Hold to charge, Space to toggle Auto aiming, Shift + Click on piano key to tune/level up.

Technical: Single HTML file, React-based canvas, no external assets, no persistence.

DEVELOPER NOTES:

This build is entirely in HTML5 and based on a Unity prototype.
