a criticism in nine eras, 2030 → 1995 → 2035

the web is sterile. it wasn't always. it doesn't have to be.

Nine eras, nine seconds each. We begin at 2030 — the future we're heading toward if we can't uncork it. We rewind through the decline to 1995, where the web was one person, one file, one page. And then we jump forward: 2035, what it could be if we remembered.

The eras in the file:

How it works: Single HTML file, no deps. Timeline at bottom with ticks 2030/2025/2020/2015/2010/2004/1998/1995/2035, progress bar, auto-flips every 9000ms with rotateY page flip, headline rewrite loop in 2030. Audio: Karplus-Strong plucks, bell inharmonics, 3x saw ambient drone that lowpasses to 2000Hz in 2035. Click intro or arrow keys / space to jump eras.
